Well water systems
Safe, clear, odor‑free water from your well.
Private wells aren't treated like city water, and every well is different. We test yours, then build a multi-tank system from the results to remove stains, smells and hardness.
- Treats
- All the water from your well
- Install
- Usually one day
- Upkeep
- Salt refills and a yearly review
What it treats
Built for what wells bring up.
Iron & manganese
Orange, brown and black stains. Standard systems handle up to 6 ppm iron and 3 ppm manganese.
Hydrogen sulfide
The rotten-egg smell, up to 2 ppm. Not designed for sulfur bacteria.
Tannins
Tea-colored water from organic matter, reduced by anion resin (1–3 ppm).
Hardness
Cation resin softens water up to 35 grains per gallon.
Gases & contaminants
Catalytic-grade carbon removes gases and other contaminants.
Dissolved solids
Standard systems are designed for water up to 450 ppm TDS.
How it works
Three tanks, built from your lab results.
-
01
Lab analysis
We test your well first. Every well has different minerals, so each system is sized to match.
-
02
Oxidation tank
Mixed beds oxidize and trap iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide.
-
03
Catalytic carbon tank
Removes remaining contaminants and gases.
-
04
Resin tank
Cation and anion resins remove hardness and tannins. An electronic valve washes each tank automatically.
Before you buy
Does your well need treatment?
Signs you need one
- Orange, brown or black stains in sinks, toilets or laundry
- A rotten-egg smell, especially from hot water
- Your well hasn't been tested in the past year
- Scale on fixtures, or spots on dishes and glassware
Good to know
- Health agencies recommend testing private wells at least once a year.
- Standard systems handle up to 6 ppm iron, 3 ppm manganese, 2 ppm hydrogen sulfide, 35 gpg hardness and 450 ppm TDS. Above that, we add equipment.
- It isn't a disinfection system. If your test shows bacteria, we'll tell you what's needed before installing.
Ownership
Easy to keep running.
| Part | Typical interval | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Softener salt | Check monthly | Top up the brine tank |
| System review | Every 12 months | Scheduled visit by an authorized technician |
| Media service | Every 5 years | Scheduled maintenance of the tanks |
| Water test | Once a year | Recheck iron, sulfur and hardness |
Typical intervals. Your schedule depends on your water and household, and we'll send you reminders.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Will it protect against bacteria?
This system targets iron, manganese, sulfur, tannins and hardness; it isn't a disinfection system. Your lab analysis checks for bacteria, and if any is found we'll tell you what's needed.
Will it get rid of the rotten-egg smell?
In most cases, yes. The smell comes from hydrogen sulfide, which an iron and sulfur filter removes. If it's only in hot water, we'll also check your water heater's anode rod.
How much does a well system cost?
It depends on what your test finds and how many tanks you need. You'll get a written quote after your free test, and financing is available from 60 to 240 months.
How long does installation take?
Most well systems are installed in one day, next to your pressure tank.
What if my water changes?
Well water can change with the seasons and with drought. Yearly testing lets us adjust your system before problems show up.
