What it treats

Built for city water.

  • Chlorine & chloramine

Catalytic carbon removes the “pool” taste and smell, and the dryness it leaves on skin and hair.

  • Hardness

Cation resin softens water by ion exchange, so scale stops building up on fixtures and water heaters.

  • Sulfates, nitrates & chlorides

Anion resin reduces these dissolved salts.

  • PFAS & organic chemicals

Catalytic carbon reduces PFAS, herbicides, trihalomethanes and other organic compounds.

  • Heavy metals & bacteria

A KDF copper-zinc bed reduces heavy metals and limits bacteria growth inside the tank.

  • Fine particles

Garnet and gravel layers trap fine particles and keep water flowing evenly.

How it works

Inside the Entry Point Cylinder.

  1. 01

    Catalytic activated carbon

Water enters through the valve and flows down through carbon that removes chlorine, chloramine, odors, flavors and organic compounds.

  2. 02

    Cation & anion resins

Ion exchange removes hardness and reduces sulfates, nitrates and chlorides.

  3. 03

    KDF

A copper-zinc alloy bed reduces heavy metals and bacteria through a redox reaction.

  4. 04

Garnet & gravel, then up the center

A dense base layer filters fine particles (10–20 microns) and keeps the flow even. Clean water rises through the center tube into your home's pipes, and a flow meter tells the valve when to wash the beds.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does a whole house system cost?

It depends on your home's size, your water and the options you choose. After your free water test we give you a written quote, with no obligation. Financing is available from 60 to 240 months.

Will it lower my water pressure?

Not when it's sized correctly. We match the tank and valve to your home's flow rate and number of bathrooms.

Is it a filter or a softener?

Both. The Entry Point Cylinder combines filter media (carbon, KDF, garnet and gravel) with softening resins in one tank, plus a brine tank for salt.

How long does installation take?

Most installs are done in one day. The system goes on your main water line, usually in the garage, a utility area or outside.

What warranty does it have?

The cylinder and control valve carry a manufacturer’s limited warranty of up to 25 years, as long as scheduled maintenance is kept up. See the warranty page for details.
